The last time Bill and I saw Don and Shirley, they were sitting laughing in their new "Smart Car," a recent impulsive purchase, which they'd chosen to drive to Michigan. They were laughing and enjoying the experience like teenagers. I'll choose to remember him, with all his exhuberance, his enthusiasm, his sense of life and joy, that way.

THe part of DOns life that I knew was in the chorus at FUS. Shirley was Chairperson of the Music committee, and it was under her tuteledge that Cary John Franklin waas chosen to be Music Director at Fus. Shirley and Don and I traveled together by car via the Mississippi River route to discover the scenic wonders on the way, and the fun and joy of attending Cary's opera. We had a spendid adventure, such as I had never had before, and Don and Sirley and I became fast friends. Although I married and moved to Wichita Ks. to spend my final days at this magnificent horse farm that I love and with a stunning husband Sam Beltran. We love it here, and my health will not allow me to be at the service, but my thoughts and spirit are with all of you.Sylvia Siggelkowl

Gary and I were shocked to only learn this morning that our good friend and buddy Don has passed away. He and Shirley were such an important part of our Alzheimer's group. The last time we saw the both of them was at our May lunch and both of them looked so well. Shirley was as spunky as ever and we enjoyed so many laughs with them that day. He will be very, very missed by all of us. Our deepest sympathy to the whole Maxwell family.
